THE COLOUR PREFERENCE INDEX NUMBER
SYSTEM OF ANTAL NEMCSICS

The colour preference index number system expresses the value of colour preference of the colour marked by the current colour point, expressed by the distance of points of the colour preference surface placed above each colour plane of the Coloroid colour space.

The judgment, the essence of which is that the person prefers one colour to the other, is the colour preference. The choices constitute a colour scale in the order of preference. Having been created as a result of judgment, the established sequence scales are psychometric. A choice between two colours could only occur reasonably if the number expressing preference for the two colours does not only express succession, but also places the colour according to the judgment of certain groups of persons on a psychometric ratio scale that has a starting and an end point. By introducing the idea of using a ratio scale, I made it possible to register the preferences for each member of the colour space
