COLOUR-BASED WORKS

OF ANTAL NEMCSICS

Since the beginning of the 1980s I have felt an increasingly strong urge not to talk about relations among colours to scientists, technical experts only, not to include my message in accurately worded mathematical formulae, rather to present these spectacularly, in a way accessible for everyone, in the language of art. I created mobile works of art, objects, once again I started making panel paintings, but with these, colour is no longer a means of conveying a message, rather the message itself. By these pictures I would like to tell as much as possible about the colour phenomenon. The phenomenon created by a specific part of the radiating energy getting into our eyes, which we call light... My message is about the kingdom of colour experiences, the laws of the realm of the colours. These laws are the outcome of interaction between radiating energy and our sensory mechanism. They can be largely approached by statistical surveys only, still they are not random, rather based on the laws of logic. They do not reflect a random and homogeneous, rather a finite, individual world, a Universe that does not look like it does by necessity, rather it was created from the personal affection of the Creator. A journey in the realm of the colours leads not only into a familiar but still unknown world, rather it introduces us to the creation, what is more, to the prototype of every creation, the Creator himself.
